A&M University - Galveston

Progressive Commercial Aquatics

At A&M University’s Galveston campus, Progressive Commercial Aquatics performed a complete renovation of the 6-lane competition pool and pump house, both built in 1972. Inside the mechanical room, two new pumps and a stacked horizontal fiberglass sand filter system replaced the outdated equipment. Progressive also replaced the heater, and installed Accu-Tab and Acid-Rite chemical systems. Outside, a climbing wall and shade structures were added. A deep swim out shelf was built into the pool that helps with scuba diving classes and a sun-shelf was added for recreational purposes. The gutter system was removed and converted to a new skimmer system, and the main drains and plumbing were updated. To make the pool look pristine, decking, tile and coping, and plaster were redone. With these renovations, A&M is now equipped with a state-of-the-art facility comprised of the latest technology.
